Do Not Disturb App Exceptions

I would love to see Apple implement an option to have user selected Apps override the Do Not Disturb feature. There are several alerts that most users would like to receive at any time while still blocking calls, texts and most other App alerts. As with most people there are several things that need to be monitored always. These include but are not limited to: camera zone alerts, stock movement alerts and emergency weather alerts. I feel this is an important and highly useful feature and am quite surprised it is not available. If you would also like to see this option, please voice it here with the hopes of getting this feature implemented in a near future update.

Yes, please! I want to disable all alerts excepts those from my daughter’s Dexcom CGM (Dexcom follow app).

Overnight lows for type 1 diabetics are a big worry. Usually I enable Do Not Disturb on my phone and my wife disables it so we get 1/2 the garbage overnight but she still gets CGM alerts. Almost lost my daughter last night due to too much insulin. Wife left her phone on silent accidentally. My daughter can usually feel when her blood glucose is low when awake, but asleep is a different story. So lucky I caught this without any alerts (I happened to have a hard time sleeping last night).

We’ll have to do something differently to mitigate this, but if you had this feature, I’d be using it already.

Yes well it’s clearly something that just NEEDS TO HAPPEN . Matters of life or death , health , security issues , financial matters , important business things . At the moment it appears that NONR of us can use this feature without being exposed to risk of some sort . For you - it’s life or death .

this must be sorted out .

p.s Im sorry that things are out of control again over there for you . This would be something that APPLE could do to help everyone in conflict zones . Dont k is how you get any sleep to be honest . But this would surely help

This would be great!

So many of us are working from home, now, and my office uses FUZE app for phone calls. Currently, I can't use Do Not Disturb to limit distractions and interruptions from other apps because I would miss work calls. I'd like to enable Do Not Disturb except for FUZE so I could reduce interruptions and distractions and increase productivity at home.

As someone working at a fire department this feature should absolutely be implemented. We use an app that notifies us of calls. While sleeping I want my phone on do not disturb except for any emergency calls that get notified by our app. Thank you Apple!

1) Apple doesn't read here for suggestions.

2) Apple has already made that an option. It's up to the app developer to implement it. Contact whoever designed your app.

This would be extremely helpful! Stock alarms and weather warnings need to be available after hours. Please!!!

Emergency alerts, which include severe weather alerts are not affected by DND. You can turn them on in Setthings>Notirications>Emergency Alerts and Public Safety Alerts.

You can also get a weather app that makes use of the override function. The one I use is Carrot, admittedly, not to everyone's taste.

The stock alarm clock app on the iPhone is also not silenced by DND.

And, lastly, I don't know who you're saying, "Please!!!" to. No one participating in this thread has the power to change anything. I doubt any of the app developers who would need to make the changes you want are reading here.

And I don't know why you seriously feel the need to literally reply to every single person to tell them that Apple doesn't read their own support and discussion section, that app developers apparently write code for all their platform apps but check a box to Hide In iOS, and about your AMAZING weather app that does the same thing all other weather apps do.

Everyone needs a hobby.... 😉

And, most people don't actually bother to read much more than the original post and the last couple most recent ones.

Absolutely. It’s woke me up any other time it’s gone off. I sleep lightly so this was my first time trying Do Not Disturb to keep random notifications from waking me, but I won’t use it again unless they give you option to choose which apps can come through. Luckily this time it wasn’t anyone with malicious intent...next time could be a different story. Well...hopefully there won’t be a next time.

I think you missed my point. I'll try not being subtle. There were people breaking into your house. Surely that would have woken you up? Did you really also need an alert on your phone?

They had permission to use the hidden key if needed, but I would like to be alerted when ANYONE is around my home during the night while I’m sleeping because I live alone.

Intent is irrelevant. If you're such a light sleeper, and someone who lives alone, someone coming into your house is probably going to be louder and more likely to wake you than the little "ding ding" the Ring alert makes.

Tell your friends to ring the doorbell.
