Nas Connection to photos on iMac running Big Sur

I can connect to my WD NAS with finder no problem. But cannot connect when trying to import from nas into Photos, Just fails, as guest or using a user account.

Have just tried to do the same and it worked fine. If you can connect through Finder then the user accounts and passwords should be set up fine.

As a workaround can you just copy the files from NAS to your HD and then import from there or are you planning on importing photos on a regular basis?
