com.apple.diskmanagement.disenter error 49153 on iMac Catalina

Most of the entries in this forum also mention the fact that Apple discontinues the HFS Standard it used in the 'old days'. These entries (com.apple.diskmanagement.disenter error 49153) point the finger in the direction of Apple, that no longer supports CD-ROM and DVD-ROM standards used before Catalina.

I have connected the Apple USB Superdrive to another Apple computer. Then the Superdrive works fine and reads the 'older' CD-ROMs and DVD-ROMs perfectly. I don't get the error "com.apple.diskmanagement.disenter error 49153" in Disk Utility. But that other Apple computer runs on Mojave; I myself am on Catalina.

Therefore, I think it has to do with the fact that Apple no longer supports some standards. When I read the many other posts in this forum, this confirms my belief that it has to do with HFS.

I therefore want to repeat my question: does anyone know how to fix this? How can I just read CD-ROMs and DVD-ROMs burned on older versions of macOS and OSX? Please help!

I would like to maintain access to ± 200 CD-ROMs and DVD-ROMs (data) made with previous Apple operating systems.

Two days ago I connected an LG Double Layer CD DVD RW external USB drive. Same results as with the Apple USB Superdrive, so it's probably not the external CD player that causes the problem.

Somebody ... please help?
