My iphone was stolen today. I put a lost stolen notifier on it but later saw it had erase pending. It wouldn't let me change it back. What is up?

Erase Pending on stolen iPhone My daughters iPhone was stolen and was taken to Mexico. We remotely locked it and reported it stolen, but the status still says "Erase Pending" but it was on at least a few times because I was able to see it in multiple locations in Tijuana. How do I know it was/will be properly erased? Thx

Erase pending on stolen IPhone My IPhone 13 was stolen. I reported it and it is locked. I did an erase on it but it is pending erase until it connects to the internet, same with the Apple Pay card on it, Can I remove it from my account or should I wait until it connects and erased? I have it tracked on “find my” it is another state and the police actually went to the location but people denied having it ,of course. Anyway , my question is can I remove it from my account if it has an erase pending?
