I have just got fibernet and have set up my HomePod as new in order to use the new WiFi. However, airplay does not to work. I cannot choose my HomePod when playing music from my iPhone og iPad. HomePod can play by itself using Siri.
Check that the wireless network is not using a feature called variously access point, client or wireless isolation or security. This feature hides wireless devices from each on the network which would prevent AirPlay.
