Wrong date in the Dock.
Since updating to Big Sur late last year, whenever my MacBook Pro opens the calendar date in the dock reads 17 July for a few seconds before changing to the correct date. Why? It's rather annoying!

The app is just needing some time to determine what the date is and display it in its icon in the Dock. If you close Calendar and then reopen it does it still take a second or so to display the correct date?
How much RAM do you have? Have you installed or run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up" or anti-virus apps on your Mac?
Boot into Safe Mode by booting with the Shift key held down and check there to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.
NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing the following;
• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed
• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)
• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically
• Disables user-installed fonts
• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

I deleted a 'Cleaning' app and its associated files, then rebooted in Safe Mode and the correct date appeared straight away. I then turn off and then rebooted in normal start up, and guess what? the correct date date appeared straight away.
Brilliant. Thanks for your help Old Toad.
Turned on my machine today and the same issue reappears; July 17 before it changes to the correct date.
If I boot in Safe Mode it displays the correct date and also when I boot up normally afterwards.
But a day later it's gone back to the 17 July before correcting itself problem.
