moving a FCP clip with keyboard commands

I have a video clip that the audio was recorded separately. I want to “marry” the two together. But there was no clapboard or loud sound that I can find. So it will be difficult I know. I can get close but is there any keyboard commands or keys that will “midge” the audio clip either left or right just a very small amount?

Comma and period will nudge one frame forward or backward. If you want to adjust the audio at subframe level you have to zoom right into the timeline to be able drag the audio to position it.

Yes, and this is one of the very few cases where I'd recommend you use the Open Clip command. This will open that clip in its own timeline, and you can adjust the audio without detaching it.

Select the clip in the browser and do Clip->Open Clip

You now have the clip open in its own timeline. Select the audio and use the Nudge keys to move it in one-frame increments.

Use comma to move it to the left, period to move it to the right.
