Thank you for your reply. I, after many many many hours have 95% resolved it.
I have discovered that Bluetooth signals can be interferred with Wifi signals. In my case my genuine Microsoft wireless mouse would not connect to my windows 10 bluetooth because my Virgin Wifi Hub 3.0 was transmitting a 2.4GHz frequency. This interferred with the bluetooth connection and stopped it connecting to my computer, or in some instances, the mouse connected to my computer, but the cursor would not work. So I knew from there I needed my Bootcamp Windows 10 Home Edition to be locked to a 5GHz frequency. Simple right, nope!
It then became clear that Bootcamp Windows 10 could connect to my Virgin 5GHz wifi, but had no internet connection. Only allowing a 2.4GHz connection, which is not what I needed as I now know this interferes with bluetooth devices in some cases.
So... after many hours of educating myself and becoming somewhat of a Wifi / Bluetooth / Bootcamp knowledge hunter I found the following USEFUL information out.
Firstly...
- Check your hub is 5GHz compatable. If it is, keep reading, if it isn't, you're out of luck in this particular situation.
- Check your computer for 802.11 capabilities. You can do this simply by typing 'CMD' in to you windows search bar and selecting the Command Prompt App. Once the app is open, type in exactly - netsh wlan show drivers
You can see from this report (image attached) that it displays all the information you need to check what your driver supports. Particularly, the Radio Types Supported is what I needed to know and it clearly shows me that my driver supports 802.11ac and 802.11n...these are the particular radio types needed for a solid 5GHz connection with high Mbps.
I also, eventually, found out that the above date and version of my particular driver was the only one compatible to enable a 5GHz connection. I had to rollback my driver after Windows Update automatically downloaded and installed the latest driver, which does not allow a 5GHz connection. The rollback was done by right clicking on the bottom left Windows icon, selecting Device Manager, scrolling down to Network Adapters, right clicking on my Wifi adapter, selecting Properties, selecting Driver tab and finally selecting, Rollback driver. After doing this, I could connect to my 5GHz frequency.
So now that my Bootcamp Windows 10 can connect and utelise my 5GHz connection, my Microsoft mouse connects to my pc, without interferance, which it does most of the time, not 100%. Sometimes it still doesn't connect. I also find if I don't use the mouse for a short period it becomes unresponsive and cannot reconnect without restarting the pc. Not ideal, but I am out of informtion and have no further energy to find out why.
Hopefully in the near future, Microsoft will send an update for Bootcamp Windows 10 that resolves all these issues without having to study the in's and out's of Wifi / Bluetooth etc!
I have also attached some images of my system spec to help.
