Just noticed that the default install of my M1 MacBook Air doesn’t have journaling enabled.
I can’t enable Journaling. I booted into recovery (also tried not in recovery), but “Enable Journaling” is greyed out in the menu. I tried in terminal, but got “Journaling not supported (-69828)”. I’ve tried both operations with and without the drive mounted.
Disk Utility describes it as APFS (Encrypted).

You will not need to enable journaling when using APFS.
