I can take screenshots of videos that are playing on my Mac, so why can't I do the the same with my iPad? I can take screenshots of still photos, but when I try to get a screenshot during a video it just comes out totally black. Is there any solution for this? I'm using an iPad mini 4 with software version 14.4.

You do not know what video app/s you are using that is causing this issue?
Many streaming video service apps won't allow screenshots taken from a mobile device, as this is copyrighted digital content.
And I suspect this is true from a computer, as well, for most commercial video streaming sites.
I might not fully understand what you're trying to do, but... drag the slider to quickly jump to the point in the video you like to capture, then pause the video, then take a screenshot.
If you mean something different, please better explain.

In some movie/and video apps, if you pause the video, first then tap the screen again, all of the UI elements/controls hide, allowing you to take a screenshot.
What video app is causing these issues?
If I pause the video, it leaves printing on the screen and I want a clean photo like I get on my Mac. I don't have to pause the video on that...I just press "control, shift, 3" and I get a beautiful still shot. I want to be able to get the same on my iPad. I used to be able to do that, but for some reason that function has disappeared.

I just tried that, but the screenshot still comes up totally black.
If I knew the answer to that, I'd be able to solve my own problem. I think I'll just continue to use my Mac when I need a particular shot. Thanks for your help anyway.
