iTunes library

I am trying to import my iTunes library from my old PC (not Apple) which I have already backed up on an external hard drive. How do I import it into my new MacBook Air? Thank you.

Drag it to or restore it onto the internal drive, launch iTunes or Music with the Option key held down, and choose it.

Restore iTunes library from external hard drive Hi, I am going through the process of transferring my iTunes library from Windows to a new MacBook. Transferring iTunes library I have a windows computer that I wanted to transfer my iTunes library from to my new MacBook Pro. I am a first time Mac user so I’m clueless really when it comes to the MacBook. Anyway, I watched a YouTube video on how to transfer my iTunes files: consolidate, Copy. Paste on usb, plug in to Mac. some files appeared in the macs music but many did not transfer. I’m not sure what I am doing wrong.
