Message "Error while installing"

I am having the same error pop up on my macbook pro. It started only a couple days ago. Why is this happening? Im also noticing that my screen display shuts off when I open my macbook all the way like normal. Please help!

Like others, this first started about a week ago (late Feb. 2021). I'm getting the same error pop-up after startup on an iMac desktop running El Capitan. I can get the error to not appear when starting in safe mode, or alternate OS installations, but it persists after disabling all login items, and is still there after re-installing a fresh version of the OS. Doesn't seem to affect anything, just **** annoying.

I’m having the same problem with my iMac. The same window. It just started a few days ago. Apple Support has no idea what it could be other than malware but it’s not the reason. Very frustrating and concerned there is something really wrong with my computer.

I have the issue on 2 separate iMacs. They are not connected in any way. I’m not a technical person and I contacted Apple Care but found no real assistance. Very disturbing and worrisome. Hope we can figure this out.

I get the exact same error and noticed this roughly 5ish days ago after updating High Sierra to version 10.13.6. I’ve cleaned all library and Internet caches deleted unnecessary files and while my machine is a bit speedier, after several attempts, I am still getting the error. I have been getting this same error message for the past week. I'm on a late 2009 macbook, running Sierra 10.12.06. I have not upgraded my OS in years and the last hardware upgrade was also years ago. This is not a hardware issue. It probably is malware, but I ran Bit Defender and it deleted the one suspicious file. I haven't restarted my macbook since then, maybe it needs a restart...

I have the exact same issue on the same spec machine. It ain’t no hardware issue.. I also recently moved to High Sierra, could be something to do with that install. The message is irritating but I’m not unduly worried about it..

Same thing for me... this message appears since few days without any apparent reason. It seems that multiple Mac users are experiencing similar phenomene in the same days. I ran several anti-malware/virus tool but this message is still diplayed.

So, now it seems fairly certain it's a malware issue for everyone, I'm curious how I got it. In 35 years of mac I've not had a virus or malware and my other machines are all clean.

The only new app installation I made prior to the issue developing on the machine was Zoom(US)

Anyone install Zoom(US) just prior to the error appearing ?

My iMac, when I looked today, does not display the 'Error while installing' notice.

As for my MacBook Pro, I just cancel the notice and it does not interrupt my Login Session.

I admit, I've been spoiled by Apple since leaving Windows OS in 2009; I hope I may continue to be spoiled by all the Apple

products I use.

There has to be something to connect widespread users whom, seemingly from this thread, are running older OS and machines.

The error msg appeared for me upon restart after installing Zoom(US) on Thursday 25th February.

I have the same problem with my applemac pro. The error and then Expecting value: line1 column1(char0). It began appearing on my screen a few days ago. I've no idea what its referring to. If we are all having the same problem, is this Apple's way of saying we now have to buy another of their laptops?--something I thought I had to do until I se so many have the same issue and all at the same time.

Odd thing, I turned on my Kindle and it was trying to install ZOOM. I really don't want it on my Kindle, so deleted it. I realize that that is android, but I wonder if there could be any kind of connection...at...all.

Anyway, now I'm on the watch to see if the message pops up again.

My system is also too old to install Malware Bytes. I don't have an 'Application Support' where I can look up '. [dot]' - that youtube video didn't help.... this box keeps coming up. I got an email recently that my passwords were involved in a data leak. Would this be related? Should I be concerned? Gonna try to reboot and wipe my computer and change pwords but not sure it will get rid of that box...

I'm getting this on my 2018 MacBook Pro. Just started maybe 2-3 days ago. Luckily mine was already about to get sent in to apple to have a key repaired.. so hopefully they can use it to take a closer look :/
