Message "Error while installing"

Whenever I start my Macbook, "Error while installing" shows and it says "Expecting value: line 1 column 1(char 0)". I don't use any coding languages like python.

Please let me know how to get rid of it. Thanks.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.12

Just been in Apple support Chat

I ran Malware Bytes

https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/

It detected one third part Malware file and some adware files

The Malware file path was Library/ApplicationSupport/.77B8A707-D8A5-4FBA-AAB9-7475351FDC70

Quarantined the Malware file (along with some adware files)

Error message on startup now stopped appearing.

I just had a chat with Apple support

Their answer, which I'm not inclined to believe, is that because the error msg didn't resolve with a clean install it must be a hardware issue, and because it's on a 2015 MacBook Pro I'm 'on my own'.

I mentioned that other users have experienced the same issue starting at the same time (I (provided the link to this thread) and the answer was that "[these users] may be sharing the same issue with others with that same Mac model, which indicates hardware issues.

It's seems to strange to me that this issue, that appears to never been reportsd before (according to a Google search), suddenly manifests itself on several machines.

i don’t think it’s a hardware issue. So many people are having this issue on multiple computers with different models, all starting within the past week. Something strange is going on. I have a 2009 iMac running High Sierra. Yours is 2011, and I saw someone with a MacBook Pro. I wonder is we’ll ever get to the bottom of this.

If so many people here are experiencing this around the same date, it’s not coincidence. Nor do all of us have simultaneous hardware issues. I’m sure they’ve gotten calls about this.

After reading 60 posts about 'Error while installing', I recognize we may use Security Software to isolate or remove this nuisance message at startup. I choose to wait, primarily, because I now can CANCEL the 'Error while installing' message and it does not return during the current login session. I also tried a Guest Login which did not produce the 'Error while installing' message.

I've not used any Security Software product during my use of my MacBook Pro nor my iMac; but I do check for updates just before Shutdown for each Login Session.
