Password doesn’t work after time machine migration

I’ve been using a MacBook 2011 until recently.

i got a MacBook Air M1 and used the time machine backup to migrate my backup.

once it was migrated, my login password for my user account didn’t work anymore (the screen briefly shakes and after three failed attempts the account is locked for 1 minute). Also when I click the button to reset with the help of my Apple ID and out in my correct password, the screen briefly shakes but nothing happens.

can someone help me?

Hi Krobold,

It sounds like you are experiencing some issues signing into your Mac after updating the software. We can help with this.

If you haven't already, we'd recommend resetting the SMC using the steps: How to reset the SMC of your Mac

If you continue to experience issues, try starting your Mac in safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers!
