iphone 12 spinning wheel random restart

I have the same issue with my iphone 12 pro. It started several days ago and now it happens once a day...

I have the same issue happening even when I am on a phone call. The call never disconnects the screen just goes black the the spinning wheel for few seconds then turns back onto the Lock Screen. It even started on my iPad. Went into the Apple store and was told to reset phone and iPad as new. I only did the phone to test it out before going through the trouble on the iPad. So I did the rest as a new phone in the store but unfortunately that did not work. 3 days later the same black screen ... spinning wheel for few seconds ... then Lock Screen again. Called AppleCare this morning and luckily got a great representative over the phone and after he did some research said that it is an operating systems issue. As so many people have been complaining of the same issue and they are working on a fix. So hopefully the next update will have the fix for the random shut down. Hope they come out with the fix soon as it is most annoying when you go try and take a picture and you get this black screen. The moment is gone by the time you get phone back up and opened to the camera. So frustrating.

This has been happening to me too, this is my replacement that came the other day, I got this replacement due to the restarting itself and literally this new phone has the same problem, it rebooted on the first day

I have the same issue with my iphone 11 pro Max . It started after 14.4.2 Update, i think its a software issue, hope the 14.5 Update fix that

Yes! I’ve been getting it since last Thursday, at least twice or three times a day. It’s so annoying. I hope it’s a bug, I’m glad I’m not the only one.

I’ve just uploaded iOS to the 14.5 version. I’ll let you know if the spinning wheel appears or if, luckily, it was just a bug which has been solved out with this last version.

I’ve uptaded 14.5 version since 2 3 hours and no black screen and spinning wheel again for the moment

Yes I think the update helped. will update if anything changes

Even after installing 14.5.1 still experiencing the same problem. Any suggestions in this community?
