Giving Each Disc In A CD Box Set A Seperate Name.

As you can see in the above image the David Bowie A New Career.... Box Set has individual names for each different disc in the box set in Apple Music, Low being the first.

Is there a way using tagging/metadata to replicate this style with my own box sets?

Tried using the Grouping option but they still show disc 1, disc 2, etc etc

iTunes 12.8.2.3 on Late 2008 MBP running 10.11.6 (El Capitan). Trying to merge imported discs from a box set into one album. Previous attempts have sometimes mysteriously subsumed separate discs into a single album, with sections reflecting their original listings (disc 1, disc 2, etc.) in just the way I'd like rather than interlacing tracks into a salad of songs in "perfect" track order but no disc number subheading. But this has usually been when I have cut and pasted the same album title to separate imported discs. I have explored the Album Info options, post import, to try to better merge in the manner in which I prefer, but a few are stubbornly resisting my custom classification efforts...

Q: How to create a new album in Music with existing songs? In an earlier life iTunes allowed you to duplicate a song & change the tags on it so it (the duplicate) would show up under a different album. How do I accomplish the same task now with Music (v 1.2.5.7)? For example, once upon a time I could highlight a song in iTunes and choose from a menu item--I think if you clicked on a song it gave you options--to duplicate the song. That song, once duplicated, would then show up in the list of all songs in iTunes and you could then change the album name, artwork, etc. So if I own The Beatles "Get Back" song from their "Let It Be" album and I want to create a new album called "The Late Beatles" and include "Get Back" in that new album I could do so. I think there was also an option to select the type of file (.mp3, Apple Lossless, etc.) when making the duplicate. It'd be nice to know how to do that as well although that's less important to me. I can use an app like Audio Hijack to do it but that requires recording each track. There is surely a quicker way. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

If you want to experiment, keep the boxset name as the Album and add the disc name to the "Work" field. See if it does what you want.

In Get Info, Details tab, change the "Album" field.

Edit added: Or are you trying to keep the same Album name, but have names instead of numbers for each disc? If the latter, I don't believe there is any convenient way to do it.

Yeah, keeping the Boxset name, then once opened, each disc named in bold instead of the basic Disc 1... etc.

Annoying for my OCD if you can't now I've seen it in AppleMusic, lol
