Edited pictures in Photos turn black

After importing pictures from iPad and iPhon to iMac (Big Sur) and attempting to auto-enhance the pictures, they turn black. Have deleted the .plist as per another discussion thread and photos still turn black. Rebuilt the photos library as recommended in another discussion thread and now they turn green when I use auto-enhance. Upon trying to edit, none of the functions seem to work.

HI,

After rebuilding the photo library, now every photo turns green. Did the previously found steps again...deleted the plist file and rebuilt the photo library with full reboot between each step and at the end. Things seem to be working fine!!! Glad the Community had this information posted!

Hi bsalk,

We'd like to help provide the best guidance for a solution. Does this happen with every photo or just the one you posted with?

Make sure you're importing photos using the steps from this link as this may contribute to the issue:

Transfer photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Also, go through the steps under “If you're having other issues with Photos” from this resource and see if this has any impact on what's occurring:

Get help with the Photos app on your Mac

Get back to us with the results. Take care.
