I’m trying to back up My old data in my old phone to my new one but the new phone requires to be on iOS 14.5 how can I update my new phone when I’m on the hello screen

I’m trying to back up my old phone data to the new one but when I go to the backup screen it shows me I need iOS 14.5 how can I update my phone when I’m still trying to activate the phone

iPhone 11 Pro Max, iOS 14

I'm not sure I understand your issue. If you make a backup of your old iPhone, the new iPhone should be able to read that backup. (Assuming the old iPhone doesn't have a newer iOS than the old iPhone.)


Have you tried using he Quick Start method?

Use Quick Start to transfer data to a new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
