Why does Apple Music not do 'handoff' but Spotify does this perfectly?

Not really a question. Apple's vaunted handoff functionality isn't supported by Apple Music/iTunes yet Spotify does a brilliant implementation of this. If I am playing on my computer and I open Spotify on my phone it shows the current song playing with my computer as the sound device and asks me if I want to continue on my phone.

Spotify is its own company with its own system. They also focus on one thing, how to make music better.

Apple on the other hand has many products they are having to update and support. Some times things just get lost in the vast world of Apple. I know that Airplay will allow you to switch speakers via voice command, so maybe this would get in the way... While Spotify's method works well with their platform, It might not pan out the same way for Apple, not to mention that the technology or code that is used in Spotify's application could be protected. Apple has seen their fair share of lawsuits, and could be preventing another one.
