Can I change the emojis used for tap-backs?

Apologies if this question belongs in a different "community" - I couldn't find one for Mac OS Messages. I am pretty sure it can't be done, since I've spent a bit of time searching for how, and came up empty. Yet none of these articles mention specifically that it cannot be done, or even mention it at all, which I found odd since it seems like it'd be something many users might want to do.


Can anyone confirm whether or not it is possible to add or change the tapback options?

It sounds like you want to customize the options provided for tapback in Messages.


Here are some resources on this topic. Review Send Tapbacks in a message on Mac and Use Messages with your Mac.

  • When using Tapback, the only options are to send one, see who sent one, and remove one. Tapback options are standard on all devices and there is no way to change the tapbacks provided.


As this is not a feature for Messages, if you'd like to see possibly added in a future release, be sure to leave Product Feedback.
