Up Next on Apple TV App Not Synching with Apple TV and Other Devices

Can you explain how to fix this? Do you have the same issue? I would love to get a fix for this.

I saw this post listed in Oct 2019 and no one had an answer. I know Big Sur is recommended but my Air only goes to Catalina so I have done this and the Apple TV app does not sync. I've logged in and out and checked out every settings and option in the menu bar.

It might be but I was trying to offer you an alternate solution that has worked before

On your Mac in TV - Preferences - Playback - Make sure Use Viewing History is enabled and on your other devices using the TV App- this might be called Play History on an iPad and iPhone

Hi kairos33,

We'd like to help provide the best guidance to help you move towards a solution. We have some suggested steps to try.

  1. Quit the Apple TV app: Quit apps on Mac - Apple Support then restart your Mac: How to turn your Mac on or off - Apple Support.
  2. If you've made any changes to the Security preferences on your Mac, change the settings back to see if that fixes the issue: Change Security & Privacy General preferences on Mac - Apple Support. Likewise, if you've installed any third party security software, try disabling or removing it and testing.
  3. See if the issue continues in safe mode: Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support.
  4. See if the issue continues in a new, test user: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

Let us know if any of these steps provide any changes.

There was a lot there besides that one tip but I wish it was that easy, thanks. All settings under Preferences were already checked per initial post. I didn't mean to sound harsh. Just nothing new there. It's a genuine apple issue that there's no excuse for. It is the sole reason I upgraded and now several software programs won't work on my MacBook and I paid hundreds for the new version of those programs just so they are compatible with the new OS and now the feature I upgraded for is worthless. I believe it can't be fixed.
