During installation of my new Apple TV 4K, I noticed the Crave app won't finish downloading. It starts and after few seconds aborts. Anyone have similar experience?

I think that is not possible. App downloads are handled by the App Store itself, without live checks from app developers. Apps that you download are linked to your Apple ID account - not limited by specific devices.
What developers/publishers/content providers can control (after downloading), is the number of apps connected to an account with them (i.e. after sign-in) (5 for Crave), and the number of simultaneous streams (2 for Crave).
Do other apps download normally on this device?
