Apple Music, Search Box.

The new search box on the left seems unnecessary. It's clunky to use; especially for those of us with huge music libraries. Why does it change the display in the main window when a cursor moves into the search field? No!? The situation I'm talking about was addressed here with an incorrect solution.

The correct solution is the keyboard shortcut Option+Command+F.


This will bring back the more useful "Filter". I honestly don't use my new laptop much due to issues such as this. I have an old one with a version of iTunes that to me, seems more intuitive. In my opinion, we shouldn't have to use a keyboard shortcut to utilize a quality piece of the interface that used to come standard. This is a horrible feature to hide!

As an alternative to the keyboard shortcut, you can use the menu item View > Show Filter Field.


However, the field is not sticky and has to be called up each time you want to use it. If you want to give feedback directly to Apple, use this link:
