macmini 2020 + ipad pro 2020 + sidecar -- how to use ipad camera??

I have a primary monitor that does not have a camera, and I intended to use my iPad pro as a second monitor with a camera. When I use sidecar, I cannot access the camera for FaceTime, etc. I installed an app (EpocCam) and I still can't use Facetime with my macmini. What is the solution to this other than buying a webcam?? I might be starting to regret my purchase...

Use your iPad as a second display for your Mac


This is not a supported option, as you are mirroring your Mac, and the iPad is only acting as a display. Apple is all about improving the experience for our customers. If you've got a functionality request that you'd like to see, let our engineers and developers know here:
