Apple Pencil (1st generation): randomly draws interrupted lines

When normally drawing, writing, and simply using Apple Pencil (1st generation), the lines drawn with it randomly break, all while deliberately making sure that the pencil does not lose contact with the screen (no screen-protector used).

This also happens irregularly.

Could this be a software issue? Or is the Apple Pencil faulty?

I asked a friend, and they also have the same issue. Both of our Apple Pencils are in good shape; the tip is intact and undamaged.

The screenshots I took are from GoodNotes 5 and Apple Notes.

The following images have all line-breaks marked in red:

No smart Bluetooth stylus is perfect.

They all have their issues.

I think Apple is no different from any other smart, Bluetooth stylus maker.

It is the nature of this type of device, IMHO.

I do not think it has anything to do with iOS hardware/software other than that inside of the Pencil.

Also, apps can have varying issues with smart Bluetooth stylii, also.

I do not think there is much that can be done.

If you suspect that something could be wrong with your Pencil

If your Pencil is less than a year old, you can search online to locate and call contact your nearest, “local” Apple Store location to try/attempt to make an appointment to get your Pencil replaced with another new Pencil.

OR, failing that,

Contact Apple support via the contact support link located at the upper right hand corner of every Webpage of these Apple support communities.

Use the Device Performance and Connectivity support categories.

OR

by installing and using the Apple Support app found in the iOS App Store.
