Ethernet dropping on Windows 10 boot camp, Big Sur latest version on my Mac Pro 2019.

Hi everyone,

When I logon to Windows 10 in boot camp, my ethernet is not working and I have to do a reset to both of the network card.

Also the connection to my ethernet is very intermittent.

I don't seem to have issues in Big Sur, latest update though.

I have tried many different driver versions for the Aquantia AQtion 10 Gbit Network card. Is this the correct driver I'm trying to use? When I check under my specs on my order or on the specs of the new Mac Pro 2019 there is no specs for the onboard ethernet.

I would really like this to be resolved. Also, I'm running a fresh copy of Windows and Big Sur, since I just upgraded my HDs. Just a note, I was having this issue before I changed my HDs. The drops didn't seem as often but I always had to "Reset" my ethernet network with the "Troubleshooter".

Thanks everone,

Windows, Windows 10

This may be related to how you switch from macOS to Windows. Instead of a 'warm' start, can you test a 'cold' start of Windows?

The version I found that works best but not perfect is 2.1.21.

The 2.1.18 version works properly on some releases of EFI. Unless you want to debug packet level traces, what happens if you force the card into 1Gbps instead of 10Gbps? If the rest of your wired network does not support 10Gbps, you will see many packet unnecessary packet retransmissions. You may be able to see these in a Wireshark trace.

Also most of the questions/answers date all the way back to 9 years or so, I would thought by now there would be something more concrete as a solution. There are many 2019 Mac Pro users and I’m sure a-lot of them use boot camp, yet there is little discussion on this.

There are many environmental dependencies for a 10G copper network to work properly. Try the 1Gbps

Thanks for trying LonerT,

Hopefully someone will find something more that we both missed.

I just realized something. When I log into Windows 10 and that is either from cold boot or soft, when I have to reset the network card with troubleshooter, when it fixes the issue it says the issue was that the gateway was not set. Wondering if the router is sending it's gateway info to early or the card looses it? Just a thought. I just tried version 2.1.21 and 2.1.12. Each seem to not drop the connection but I still have to reset Window's ethernet adapters.

Just wandering if you have more info on this.
