carplay volume sounds very faint

When plugged into my 2020 F350 with Sync 3 and iPhone 11 ProMax iOS 14.4 on some calls people tell me I sound very far away. On a couple occasions I hear people through my speakers but with the volume all the way up they still sound far away as well. It seems to work fine while connected via Bluetooth only but on CarPlay its a random issue. I have seen other forums where people are reporting similar issues with no known solution yet. Has anyone else seen this problem or have a fix?
