How to hide the side bar when taking notes on PDFs in Files app?

I frequently write and take notes using the PDF viewer in the Files app, but the sidebar that shows each page is placed on the right side, right where my hand rests when I write. This causes it to constantly jump pages when I accidentally tap a page with my palm while writing. Is there any way to hide or disable this sidebar?
