Adding Google account to iPhone?

I can't add a Google account on my iPhone XS (iOS 14.4).

I go to Settings/Mail/Accounts/Add Account (or Settings/Calendar/Accounts/Add Account, doesn't matter).
I select Google.
I press Continue on the security dialog.
I type in my Google account's email address.
I enter my Google account's password.
The page with sync options appears with a loading spinner, but returns almost immediately back to the Add Account page.
I go back to Accounts page and see that no account was added.

How do I add my Google account to my iPhone?

just some general reasons for strange behaviour

Turn off Screen Time

Uninstall any security apps including VPN and ad blockers

I came up with a solution. I delegated the Google calendar on my business account to my personal account. This way I only need to set up one Google account per device, so it may be even more convenient, at least as long as I only need to sync calendar events.

No. You will have to sort out with Google the correct password authentication because the account will have to be added to Settings, Calendar, Accounts and that is exactly the same process.

I use Gmail but icloud calendar so its easier for me

Yes. In fact, I can delete and add my personal Google account (@gmail.com) normally. The one I'm having trouble with is my other Google account registered using my business' email to keep my work-related issues separate.
