TV App and Existing iTunes Library?

I have a few extensive libraries of media built up under the iTunes application. How do I keep this together under the new TV and Music apps? The TV app appears to be trying to build its own file structure and plist, making the newly downloaded media detached from the old media. This looks like another really dumb choice by Apple, completely disregarding their existing customer base.

macOS Catalina 10.15 introduced the TV app back in 2019. When upgrading a computer to Catalina or later, the new media apps will upgrade your old iTunes library to the new format that each individual app (Music, Apple TV, Podcasts, Books) needs. The upgrade process pulls the appropriate media files from iTunes and places them in the corresponding app’s library. All of your music, including music videos, will end up in the Music app. Movies, but not music videos, end up in the Apple TV app, podcasts end up in the Podcasts app, and audiobooks have moved to the Apple Books app.

If your issue is with the location of the media files, rather than the library database itself, then see the app Preferences to set the desired file location, as well as optional library consolidation options (copy on import, or not).
