Change Default Apple ID on 2019 MacBook Pro

How do I change the default Apple ID on my mac. I used my wife's Apple ID to configure my new 2019 MacBook Pro 16". I can log in using y Apple ID but hers seems to be "stuck" as the default owner. For example, her mail and messages pop up on my computer even after I log her out and log me in.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 10.15

You need to sign out of that Apple ID in total,

Same as here: What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Mac ...

Sign in using your own Apple ID

Thanks. That seems to have worked. I followed the directions through step 5 (reset NVRAM). The user settings were gone so I then reset the user settings. I had already completely migrated my PC to the Mac so I wasn't willing to erase the hard drive and reinstall the OS.

Great bollocks60— sounds like this solved your problem.
