I have a 2011 IMAC , what (thunderbolt 2) cable or hub do I need to hook up a HDMI ex-monitor and a SSD ex-hard drive ?

To connect an SSD too you need a Thunderbolt dock. The best Thunderbolt 1 and 2 docks seems to all be discontinued, but Thunderbolt 3 docks work if self powered and using Apple's Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter.

No you need a mini display port to HDMI adapter and connect the adapter to the Thunderbolt (a 2011 is Thunderbolt not Thunderbolt 2) to your HDMI cable. Here is the correct adapter:
