Apple CarPlay keeps disconnecting (2021)

Wireless CarPlay on my 2021 Hyundai i30 keeps disconnecting at random intervals. In addition to that, it also disconnects at one specific location during my morning commute to work without fail every morning. To me they seem like two different issues, even though they share the same outcome.

The audio unit issuer for Hyundai, Seednav, has already released an update regarding this concern and I have installed it in my car. Unfortunately the issue still remains the same. Recent communications with Seednav have resulted in the blame being pointed towards apple. Is there a fix in the making for this issue?

I’ve been having the same issues with my truck. It would keep saying WiFi interference and cut out and eventually connect sometimes. I tried something and everything is working right now with no cutting out.

I forgot the device on my truck and forgot my truck on my phone. I basically started over. Before I did anything else, I connected my phone to my truck’s mobile hotspot even though I don’t pay for the Chevy hotspot and it has no internet. I thought that if my phone stays connected to my truck, it wouldn’t be searching for other networks. After that I connected to wireless CarPlay just as before and now I have no issues! I have no idea if this is a permanent fix, but I’ve gone several days with no issues. Hope this helps others.

Same here with my 2021 Elantra.  Wireless Carplay disconnects at the same locations on the routes I frequently travel and won’t connect again until I shut off the car or reset the display unit.  Hyundai dealership did an update to it but that did nothing to fix the problem.  If anyone has any suggestions I welcome to hear them.  So frustrating that I paid for a feature that I can only partially use.

PIONEER STEREO ( CarPlay keeps randomly disconnecting or buffering )

The following needs to be checked and in this order

Low-Data Mode --> toggle --> Phone / Mobile --> Mobile Data Options

Low Power Mode --> toggle --> Battery ( Battery too low might also trigger yellow Low Power Mode )

for the following -- When Connected to eg PIONEER STEREO WIFI HOTSPOT MODE

toggle --> WiFi --> CHECK --> All Auto Join --> WiFi settings --> can be better choice not to have this for example

inside DMH-ZF9350BT --> My Networks

toggle --> WiFi --> Ask to Join Networks --> Notify mode --> can be better choice

toggle --> WiFi --> Auto Join Hotspot --> Ask to Join

Cigarette lighter voltage drain / or other amp problems

Cigarette lighter bluetooth devices or other WiFi / BlueTooth devices plugged in

Ok I was banned from this but will try again.

Genesis Corp. has been dealing with my 21G90 for 9 months. Finally installed the latest (not out yet) upgrade and it worked for 10 days and has started again. Very frustrated but don't care who fixes because I bought the car from Genesis not Apple. I have used three different iPhones with it so cant tell me its the phone. Doesn't matter if it is $25K car or $80K car its not what we paid for. I have had 2015/17/19/21 and thinking that no matter how much I love my car another brand is now looking to be my 2023 choice!

Folks.

I have owned a 2020 Palisade and a 2021 palisade with the same issue of wireless carplay dropping. I travel for work every week and this week i rented a GMC with wireless carplay as well. As I am driving down the road, the system gave me warning (Hyundai system does NOT give this warning) that "wireless interference" is affecting the carplay connection. And sure enough, the phone disconnected from the car system for a period of time, then reconnected. It was the first time I have ever seen a warning come up explaining why Carplay was about to Crap-Out. Im not super smart but that tells me that the issue isnt Apple nor is it Hyundai. Its a technology isse that cannot really be solved due to interference in some areas. Unfortunately it seems like something we have to live with if your vehicle ONLY supports wireless car play.

2022 Hyundai Tucson hybrid and Apple carplay disconnects daily in the exact same spots on the highway during my commute between home and work. Sometimes it reconnects easily and other times no can do. It's definitely shared problem between Hyundai and Apple. Time for them to correct this as this will only get more attention going forward. Still not enough to make me consider a Samsung product, yet.

Wrong. Software is up to date. As I said it happen only in specific geographic locations. There is likely a source of radio interference and the way apple and Hyundai have chosen to implement carplay are at fault. Sadly a simple wired connection would alleviate and eliminate this problem. Otherwise Apple and Hyundai need to put their heads together and figure out how to defeat this interference which disconnects the wireless connection. But thank you for your suggestion but I've undertaken nearly every troubleshooting step short of throwing the phone against a wall and buying a POS Samsung product. Off really prefer not to return to Android.
