Apple CarPlay keeps disconnecting (2021)

Wireless CarPlay on my 2021 Hyundai i30 keeps disconnecting at random intervals. In addition to that, it also disconnects at one specific location during my morning commute to work without fail every morning. To me they seem like two different issues, even though they share the same outcome.

The audio unit issuer for Hyundai, Seednav, has already released an update regarding this concern and I have installed it in my car. Unfortunately the issue still remains the same. Recent communications with Seednav have resulted in the blame being pointed towards apple. Is there a fix in the making for this issue?

The latest update from Apple (14.5) has given me enough proof to say that this is mostly an Apple issue rather than the manufacturers. Ever since my phone was updated to 14.5, the dropouts have reduced significantly. I managed to do a 3 hour journey today with maps and spotify running for the entire jorney without any issues.

Although it hasn't completely cured the problem, it seems like we are one step closer to the solution.

I keep update the iOS from 15 -> 15.3.1, the Apple CarPlay keep often disconnected. I have iPhone 12 and my car is Toyota Yaris in Thailand. When connected my iPhone to CarPlay system playing with music in few minutes, Apple CarPlay suddenly crash and back to Toyota CarPlay audio system. I have experience using Google map and music or any combinations of other operations, it crash after few minutes. It is very annoying and not acceptable. I tried another Android phone in same car, it work very smooth and no crashing happen. I strongly request Apple developers to fix this issue. I guess the app memory handling or between Bluetooth and wire communication with errors.

Yep that is the exact same thing that is happening to us with the 22 Elantra. Nobody has any answers Hyundai they just keep making excuses so I figure Apple Hass to figure it out. It’s multiple cars and all Apple devices so it probably is related to Apple not related to the car. But either way Apple has a bunch of insanely super smart people working for them so I’m sure they can figure it out

Ok I was banned from this but will try again.

Genesis Corp. has been dealing with my 21G90 for 9 months. Finally installed the latest (not out yet) upgrade and it worked for 10 days and has started again. Very frustrated but don't care who fixes because I bought the car from Genesis not Apple. I have used three different iPhones with it so cant tell me its the phone. Doesn't matter if it is $25K car or $80K car its not what we paid for. I have had 2015/17/19/21 and thinking that no matter how much I love my car another brand is now looking to be my 2023 choice!

2022 Hyundai Tucson hybrid and Apple carplay disconnects daily in the exact same spots on the highway during my commute between home and work. Sometimes it reconnects easily and other times no can do. It's definitely shared problem between Hyundai and Apple. Time for them to correct this as this will only get more attention going forward. Still not enough to make me consider a Samsung product, yet.
