I've iMac with macOS Sierra v10.12.6 and MacBook Pro macOS Catalina v10.15.7, connected them (mini display port to type c) but unable to turn on target display mode on iMac. Please advise. Thank you.

I would like to use my iMac as another display monitor.
I connected the iMac (macOS Sierra v10.12.6) and MacBook Pro (macOS Catalina v10.15.7) - mini display port to type c. However I'm not able to turn on target display mode on iMac via the Command+F2 on iMac. Please advise. Thank you.
