Same Spam, different numbers & tried options

Spam texts just had enough of it. It's the same text just they change their name sometimes, example...

" Hi this ( Brad, Cindy, etc...) we're in the neighborhood looking to buy homes, blah blah"

with the option text back STOP, I've did that ! ......Don't work or just let them know its a real person line ?

Those spam numbers come from the same Area Code as my number, or the surrounding area codes of it - most likely associated with that area code for the spam. Though I no longer live in that state, only kept my same number.

I've blocked all the numbers that come from this type of text, but to me it seems like they're just using un-used phone numbers at that moment & spam you with them. Seems like I'm just blocking numbers that down the road (future) may be a number shouldn't be blocked if trying to get in touch with me.

What to do ?
