MBA M1 safari laggy

Hello.

I recently bought the MacBook Air M1 base model of 8GB / 128GB. Im currently experiencing lag when browsing the web using safari. When I scroll down it jumps and acts choppy and laggy. It looks like frame dropping. When using chrome its perfectly fine.

I came from MBA intel i5 8gb / 128 2014 model and it was suprisingly faster surfing the internet with safari.

Other apps seems fine, its just safari. Is this a hardware or software problem? Im not using any 3rd party apps.

I've had it rebooted, safe mode, and re-installed Big Sur 11.2.3 without any luck. Im really disappointed because I love the previous seamless iOS experience.

Thank you!

Hello Jonas,

It sounds like you are experiencing performance issues while using Safari. We understand how important this is to you and we are here to help.

Let's review the recommendations outlined here: If Safari doesn't open a webpage or isn’t working as expected

If the issue persists, can you provide a few more details? What happened when you tested in safe mode? Also, when you reinstalled macOS, did you set up as new or load from a backup?

Cheers!
