New Mac asking for the WPA2 password

I bought a Mac air and I am unable to connect to the WiFi because it wants the WPA2 password from the router. This is not obtainable (tried everything internet recommended). No other Apple device ever asked for this. What can I do besides returning the Mac and not going Apple?

WPA2 Password:

That is the password you get into your network with. So, use that password. If non obtainable, I recommend getting a new router that is capable of running WPA3. Note that WPA3 is more secure, being that WPA2 is hackable nowadays.
