Does having a bit of damage void consumer law? UK

Hi,

I bought my iPad Pro 11 inch wifi (first gen) directly from apple and it will be two years old in April.

The iPad has a dent that's 4mm long on the corner where the volume buttons are located.

During use of the iPad, i noticed that it didn't detect the usb-c adapter when trying to import photos from my camera, I never thought much of it as I just had work arounds, like importing them onto another device etc.

Recently the iPad has started unexpectedly restarting. It has Panic-full logs.

I took it to the apple store, they tried restoring it and noticed that it wasn't detected by iTunes/finder.

The usb-c port on the device is basically limited to charging. It isn't detected by a computer nor does it detect accessories when connected to it. Apple offered my an out of warranty replacement and they said that they couldn't cover it due to consumer law as the dent could have caused this issue.

I guess I wanna know if have a dent thats not localised to my issue void me being able to claim under consumer law.

Thanks for taking time to read.

Apple doesn't partecipate in this tech support forum and we, just users like you, cannot diagnose/judge that kind of problem remotely, sorry.

You need to discuss it with Apple technicians and, if needed, claim your rights at the competent offices of the UK consumer law, as per this document:--> Apple Products and Consumer Laws in the United Kingdom

and/or this one:--> https://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/products/mac-english-uk.html
