What happened to autofill?

All I wanted to do is type in a time, highlight, and drag. I presumed autofill would do the rest. It doesn't. Can anyone explain this?

MacBook Air 11″, macOS 10.15

Autofill is still there, and on machines behaves as described in the User Guide here.


Are you selecting the cell, then moving the pointer over a border of the cell until the yellow dot appears, then dragging that dot?




Or if you want the interval to be not an hour, but, say, a minute, then enter the first two times, 1:00 PM, 1:01 PM, select those two cells, and drag down the yellow dot.
