Macbook Pro & Facetime

My camera works just fine for all other application on my Macbook Pro, except Facetime....which is an Apple app. Facetime isn't even showing up under the Security>Privacy>Camera menu as something to give permissions to. It used to work. I think it stopped working after I updated my OS to Big Sur. Any ideas?

Hi MariakKDet,

We'd be happy to help out with getting your Mac's camera working in FaceTime.

We'd recommend starting by checking out any remaining steps from this page: If your built-in camera isn’t working on your Mac

It looks like you may have visited this page, but also be sure to try out any remaining steps, if applicable: If FaceTime isn't working on your Mac

Lastly, try setting up a new secondary Admin user account, switch over to that for the moment, and see if the same issue happens there too. That would help to see if the issue is system-wide or user-specific. If needed, steps to set up that can be located here: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Take care!
