I can't change the y-axis scale from auto max.

Numbers version 10.3.9 (7029.9.8). This is a 2D Line chart. I want my y-axis in days (not "d h m" like data), but not 32.1979166666667 days as the auto max. Whenever I try to type 33 in the Axis Scale > Scale > Max > "Auto" box, it doesn't change. It stays "Auto." I can change the steps fine, but

1) I NEED to change the max of this range. It won't let me.

2) I only want it to show two decimal places, not thirteen (that's stupid), which Excel allows me to change. (Why not Numbers.)

If you choose your min and max and steps correctly, each step will come out evenly. You should want to do that anyway vs adjusting the decimal places, which makes the label on the line not the correct number for the position of the line.

0-35 days and 5 steps (7 days per step, which is a good number everyone recognizes)

0-36 days and 4 steps (9 days per step)
