Itune on Apple Iphone

I can't seem to get my playlists that are on my laptop to stay on my Iphone. Do I need to download them all again? Several are from my own Download CD's. Not all were originally purchased.

iPhone 8, iOS 14

That is a long time. If you are using the USB connection to sync (the first method linked above), it would be good to sync again.
