Camera on iPhone 12

My camera on my iPhone 12 very seldom takes a picture when you push the button. It does nothing.

I have to close out and go back to it at least once, sometimes twice before the shutter will click.

I'm running IOS 14.4.1 but I'm thinking it was doing that before.

I've reset the phone with no change.

The phone is just about a month old.

Anyone else having this problem?

Hi there DrLove38,

It appears that you have to close the Camera application at least once in order to take a photo using your iPhone 12. When you tap the Shutter button, it doesn't respond each time, and we're glad to provide assistance.

If the camera or flash on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch isn't working - Apple Support -- As you see, the first step in this article is to remove any case/accessory/film that may be blocking your access. Try removing anything attached and see if you're able to take a photo the first time.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support -- If the previous step didn't help, please create a fresh backup of your iPhone using a computer if possible. If unavailable, please back up to iCloud. Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support -- Then restore the backup to your iPhone and test the issue.

Please get back to us with the results when you're able.

All the best.
