How can I set which number is used for SMS for a contact? So I don't send texts to landlines?
I have a contact with multiple phone numbers, including a mobile number, work phone, and home phone (landline).
In Messages I have a text conversation with this contact that normally uses the mobile number to text to her. All good.
However, if I am actively speaking with her on one of the other lines and text her a link or photo, for some reason Messages sends the SMS/MMS to whatever phone number I'm connected to (e.g. the home phone). Like, while I'm talking on the phone, I go to the existing text thread in Messages (which is back-and-forth between me and the *mobile* number), and I send a new reply, but instead of replying back to the same phone number as the rest of the Messages thread, this new message goes to the landline number that I'm currently connected to on the voice call. Why??? This seems like a bug.
I've seen this question and answer, and it's basically the same problem. The suggestion is sort of helpful but I'm talking about just replying to an existing Messages thread and Messages changes to use the wrong number.
Is there any way to just hardcode in Contacts or Messages which number to use for SMS/MMS for a contact, or just have it continue to use the same Mobile number? And not switch to another number when there is an active phone call?
