iMacs slow down after adding a new shared user

Hi. I've two iMac computers (late 2012) with 10.13.6 system (High Sierra). Both are connected to the network via an ethernet cable. When I created a new user in each of them just for sharing, the computer slowed down significantly. Unfortunately, the speed does not go back even if I delete shared user. Does anyone know where might be the problem and how to solve it? Thanks. Simon

Let's see if we can find the problem(s)...

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report if you capture the URL while there…

Whew, they've changed pastebin & made it harder, but after pasting in, click Create new paste button, then Embed button, then copy the URL...

The important part of the above is...

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts...

Hello BD Aqua. Thank you for your advice, however, the condition aftere Safe Mode shows no improvement. I also tried Repair Disk Permissions. Also without improvement.

Both computers have the same problems, for example:

  • working with files
  • login to the account (around 45 sec)
  • work in applications (for example Adobe…)
  • the pizza wheel often spins
  • connection from one computer to my account in another computer - I will connect to the selected folder and it shows that it is empty (it lists 0 files, after about 2 minutes the files will only start appearing there)

I generated a report from Etre Check, I hope you get to the file,:

If you have a problem with the file, I share report file as RTF.

Thank you for your help

Simon

P. S. Apple deleted the link to the report in Dropbox. I get it. So hopefully Pastebin will work :)

I installed each computer separately.

I performed hardware diagnostics, too - the result is OK.

I think it will be a software problem. It only started after creating (and then deleting) a shared users.

Now I've discovered that a number of files show up in Sharing & Permissions "Fetching…”This could be a problem, What do you think? But, I did the repair permissions („diskutil resetUserPermissions / `id -u`” over Terminal), but it didn't change.

Thank you for your interest to help me.

S.
