Missing purchase in Music/iTunes
On March 19, 2021, I purchased an album that downloaded incorrectly on my iMac (21" late 2013) -- the album was split into two separate icons/listings in my Music library: the first contained songs 1-4 and the second had songs 5-14 but with three copies of each song. A friend told me to click "delete from my library" for the split album listings then restore/re-download the original purchase from iTunes, assuming it would download properly to my library as a single album with the correct number of songs.
My problem: now that I've deleted it, the album doesn't appear in the Purchased link under the Music drop-down menu ("Account -> Purchased" ) or in the Recently Added link under "Library" (on the left side of the screen of my Music library).
In the iTunes Store, the album is marked "Purchased" on the album's store listing (instead of the "$9.99 Buy" link); however, it still doesn't show up in the Purchased tab in either the drop-down menu (under "Account -> Purchased") or the iTunes store's Purchased link on the right side of the screen (under "Music Quick Links").
The only other place the album shows up as purchased is under the iTunes menu drop-down "Account -> View My Account... -> Account Information -> Purchase History -> See all" where it's listed under the Order number and date that I originally bought it.
Please advise if it's possible to restore the purchase or if I should try to get a refund from Apple and buy it again on iTunes.
And please no suggestions/lectures that I should just join Apple Music and stop buying albums -- I have over 22K songs (mostly from cd uploads) plus dozens of curated playlists in my iTunes library so I'm pretty invested in the status quo. Also, I worked in the music business for years and believe that artists deserve all the money they can get for their work, so I don't mind buying a few albums each year if it helps them out. Thanks.
