Some apps say no internet connection

I just encountered the exact same issue on a 2018 iPad Pro with iPad OS 16. The culprit proved to be Ivacy VPN app - which is rather confusing as I had the app installed for years without issue.

At least I didn’t have to remove OpenVPN - and before people here get upset I’m using it to connect to my office and home local networks from the internet, so for its intended purpose.

I tried all the various suggestions

1) deleted vpn

2) reset network settings

3) automatic date

etc

and the obvious turn on / off flight mode, turned off / on device …

in the end it was just that on Mobile Data the apps with the problem were not enabled.

my conclusion- if you are having the issue on WiFi, check the VPN. If on cellular m, check Mobile Data to see if your app is turned on.

Tried all the things people have mentioned in the posts.. VPN disconnect/removal looks to fix most of the problems

but I recently changed network provider and have two SIM cards. 1 with a number awaiting transfer in a week and my current number.

Tried the new Sim everything worked except Golf Battle 'no internet connection', put my current Sim back in, all worked?

Did the same again, exactly the same glitch.

I've removed my VPN and order a new sim, hoping this fixes it????

I had the same problem, some apps worked others said I wasn't connected to the internet, none of my email adresses worked, etc... But after a week of searching for answers I found out that I had an old VPN I'd forgotten about that looked like it was bugging (the on/off switch in the VPN settings was twitching) so i deleted the VPN and now my mac runs perfectly!

Yes it was my VPN as well. Thanks so much for posting. I worked and worked to get on Zelle. Fianlly. It's seems crazy VPN is supposed to keep hackers out not me and my apps.

Go to settings and search for VPN. If connected, disconnect.

I deleted tunnel bear and it fixed the problem, thanks for the tip on removing vpn!

Deleting the VPN from my iPad and iPhone did fix the problems with wifi and apps, but doing that will cause quite a problem when I go to a public place and NEED to use a VPN! I won't want to download it from a public internet!

It’s *definitely* the VPN. I had this same problem and for days I tried to figure it out. Even almost went to the apple store with my warranty. But as soon as I deleted my VPN everything worked normal again. DELETE YOUR VPN.

Remove any add-on VPN apps and add-on “security” apps, restart the iPhone, and try again.

Failing that, restart your W-iFi router, and try again.

Failing that, remove the app, restart the iPhone, and reload the app, and try again.

Failing that, contact the app support folks.

If you’ve installed a VPN, remove it, restart, and try again.

If that doesn’t work, details on what you’ve tried and what then happened might help speed an answer.

I’m so happy I came across this post and your answer‼️ After 2 days of sheer frustration with the same problem, I saw this post and after deleting my free VPN, immediately all my apps were once again working fine‼️🙃

I had the same problem today and it was driving me crazy, my apps were saying no internet connection, WhatsApp would not show messages and nothing seemed to work right. Deleted VPN and like magic everything worked. Really appreciate that you took the time to post this,I couldn’t find any other help on google.

Had the same thing, and problems connecting to WiFi home and work. Because of Dlb4455 post, I went into McAfee app on my phone. VPN wasn’t on, but I turned it on, then off again. And magically everything started working again!
