some apps are saying no internet connection and won’t work but others work and im connected to internet. ive restarted phone, reset all settings including network settings and updated to latest softwware and tried wifi but certain apps won’t work. The intended purpose of VPN is to allow access to a private network such as a school or business when you are not on site. Any other use is risky, and can lead to problems like the one discussed in this thread. VPN disguises your location by making you appear to be somewhere else in the world. But you can’t control that “somewhere else”, and if it is in a location that an app isn’t approved for the app won’t work. Plus the fact that the provider of the VPN knows everything about you and your location, as well as what sites you access through the VPN. So you are totally dependent on the VPN provider’s honesty. As a start, if the VPN is free, DON’T USE IT. The provider has to make money somehow, and if you aren’t paying them then they are selling you to make money. But even those that charge can’t necessarily be trusted.
What I need is for it to work like it did six months ago and I was happy. If Apple constantly wants your location because they are greedy, then screw them. An iPhone where you can’t play games Use the apps read the BBC stories is worthless, you have to constantly connect to the Internet which is ridiculous.
I'm having this exact problem: Amazon app, Youtube app, and Netflix app are working fine, but Reddit, Snapchat, eBay, and others are not. I do not have a VPN installed (when I go to the "VPN&Device management" tab in general settings and click on "VPN", there is nothing there). I've tried restarting, I've tried resetting the network settings. Nothing is working. I had a similar problem on my mac, and I had to delete Network configuration documents to get it to allow me to access websites again (it was only letting me do google searches and showing the results page). I have an iPhone 13, and I just finished setting up all my stuff on there (it's new to me, factory refurbished).
Any ideas? Is this an issue with my wi-fi? The apps do work when I'm only connected to cellular data.

My iPad3 Lite is connected to my Wi-Fi however some apps say check your Wi-Fi connection (I.e.messenger, PUBG)and they are not working . My internet connection on my iPhone, Mac and other devices works fine. I’ve tried switching between 5g and 4 with no improvement
How can I remove my vpn altogether? I don't recall ever putting it on my phone so it must have shown up with the last update however, my phone has been a mess for 5 days now. I have done the disconnect wifi and reconnect, turned phone off, turned mobile data on and off and on again, deleted multiple large attachments, purchased more storage and today, 5/2/24, went as far as doing a full factory reset and I am still getting the same errors. If the connection was poor, I wouldn't be online at all, working fully remote and using all other apps. I cannot post or see stories on facebook, I can only scroll Tiktok and IG in limited capacity before it freezes, and I cannot log into Snapchat at all. I will go on to Google to search something and it says "mobile data off/go to settings". I close that out and am able to search what I need. What do I do to fix this? Granted my phone is 5 years old at least, it is the iphone XR and I have had it since 2019. Maybe it is just time to upgrade.
