How to fix problem: shared playlist does not play by recipient

Hi WASCC,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities! We appreciate you reaching out for help with your shared playlist. We'd love to look into this with you and help sort it out.
To ensure we understand correctly, please let us know all about what's going on. Is the recipient with whom you shared your playlist able to play all other music from Apple Music without issue?
Is this happening with multiple different playlists, or only one specific playlist?
Were all of the songs in this playlist added directly from Apple Music, or were they imported from other sources, such as your personal purchases or downloaded from third-party sources?
We've got a great resource to share with you. Let us know if the information in this guide helps:
We're here for you if you've got any questions.
Have a great day!
I have the same issue. I am not able to listen to playlists shared by others. I can see the list and it shows up in the Music app under playlists but the play button is greyed out and no songs show up. The songs we are trying to share are personal recordings we have uploaded to our Music app library.
Hi WASCC,
You mentioned that you recorded these playlists. Are the songs available in Apple Music? For example, is your friend with whom you're trying to share able to locate each song in Apple Music (not in the shared playlist), and play the songs directly?
If you recorded the songs and then added them to your personal Library in the Music app or iTunes app on your computer, they are available to you personally. They aren't uploaded to Apple Music for distribution to all users. This would explain why those songs won't play on the recipient's device.

Take care.
Other people in our group can view and play the songs in the playlists--this is a unique user problem for me. Your answer does not make sense given the other user experiences.
Also, Are you saying you cannot share your own music? Wow! I imagine many Apple customers will not be pleased to hear this answer.
Your answer is not helpful.
The article that was shared was not helpful. I have completed all of the steps but the shared playlist is not functioning.
It happens with multiple playlists that I recorded and added to playlists. When sending playlist, recipient receives album cover, but nothin in it and will not play.
Article is good but does not resolve problem. Recipients of playlists can not open/play the songs.
