I have been able to customise my system sound effects however I was hoping to change my text tone to a custom one as well as I do not like the default selection. I cannot find the folder in which these are contained. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. We can understand wanting to change the tone that is played when you received a message. You can change the tone in the Preferences. You'll want to launch the Messages app, go to the Messages menu > Preferences > Message received sound.

Hi, thanks for the response however what I am trying to do is far more complicated then that. I want to upload my own sounds to use as text alerts. I am finding this difficult as the folder in which they are located does not allow permission for me to edit copy or paste inside it.
How can I get custom iMessage tones on Mac?
